FEATURE PROJECT
Historic 1920’s Streetlights
Mainstreet Shelbyville has refurbished two of the original streetlights that were in the downtown from 1928 to the 1960’s. Historically accurate streetlights will be installed as part of the upcoming streetscape project. Special thanks to Reliant Electric for donating their services to wire our two streetlights.

Thanks to Benesee Oncology Center and City Hall for hosting our lights this summer. Come visit our lights during the Holiday Season as they light up Santa’s House in Shelbyville’s downtown Public Square.

BUSINESS NEWS
Mainstreet Shelbyville Facade Grant Program:
Click here for photos and more details of the projects. Two facade grant projects have been completed in the downtown. Be sure to check out the improvements at the corner of Broadway and Harrison, the Strand Theatre, and Rendezvous on East Washington. The windows have been opened up for the first time in decades! The Strand Theatre crew is repairing the upper story windows from the inside.

NEWS UPDATE
Business Recruitment:
Mainstreet has started two projects intended to fill the spaces in the downtown. The first is a business recruitment effort, with packets, website redesign, advertising, and Wi-Fi throughout the downtown. The second is a retail incubator, which will be a storefront that new retailers share, splitting overhead and staff. We will provide training in e-business, marketing, and business plan development. Realtors, follow the "Forms to Download" for the Building Detail form to help market your building.
