FEATURE PROJECT
Historic 1920’s Streetlights
Mainstreet Shelbyville has refurbished two of the original streetlights that were in the downtown from 1928 to the 1960’s. Historically accurate streetlights will be installed as part of the upcoming streetscape project. Special thanks to Reliant Electric for donating their services to wire our two streetlights.

Thanks to Benesee Oncology Center and City Hall for hosting our lights this summer. Come visit our lights during the Holiday Season as they light up Santa’s House in Shelbyville’s downtown Public Square.

NEWS UPDATE
Business Recruitment:
Mainstreet Shelbyville has started two projects intended to fill the vacant spaces in the downtown historic district (like the notable Knights of Pythias building, above). The first is a business recruitment effort, which will involve recruitment packets, website redesign, TV advertising, and Wi-Fi throughout the downtown district. The second project is a retail incubator, which would be a storefront that 5 or 6 start-up retailers would share, splitting the overhead and staffing. Mainstreet would manage the project and provide specialized training in e-business, marketing, and business plan developmet. Realtors, follow the link to "Forms to Download" for the Building Detail form so we can help market your building.
